Thanks sgolds. That was exactly my point. AMD, IMO, needs to foster such cooperative efforts because they do not have the financial wherewithall at this point in time to go it alone. The idea of riding on other's patents is simply an extension of Sander's earlier axiom.

This will serve AMD in the short term, but I have serious doubts about "depending on the kindness of others" for longer term viability.
