I'm so glad you didn't mention that no other site in this same field has done the same thing for similar reasons - because then I would have been embarrassed (*cough* Raging Bull *cough*)

Your unspoken point about brand recognition is valid though and don't think it wasn't brought up repeatedly ;)

Weren't you the guy named after an oyster (or something) at one point? <g>

He already stated the reason and it's a valid one for this industry.

There's very strict contract issues when dealing with market data. If you show it on more than one top-level domain, it's very cost-prohibitive. Changing the name to include advfn in it is a no-brainer money-saving move...and enables us to provide the users with something there isn't a chance in the world we could have provided prior.

I agree....and I'll bet what the decision-makers are overlooking that part of the beauty and appeal of Investorshub has ALWAYS been that it's a community of a higher dimension....and having a corporate name in the URL does NOT communicate that to new people nor subliminally to the current base.

While I'm sure it's been discussed and debated to death by the higher ups, I'm equally sure that there are plenty of really good DD'rs here that are perfectly capable of spotting an absolutely terrible marketing decision by a public company that has debated and discussed something to death yet is still doing something that is a very bad idea. We're not exactly questioning Steve Jobs' marketing ideas here. :)
