Very good points and logical, IMO. You would probably have a hard time finding my business as well, even though we employ 90 people and are the largest of our kind in that geographic area.

STILL missing my point. I'm not talking just about Google. I'm talking about searching entity names with each State's Secretary of State. I have not searched many Northern states yet, but I did not find Southern Concrete Crushing in ANY of the southern States from Cali all the way to Florida. Give me the name of your business or employer. If it's a legit business and formed under State laws, then it WILL be available via the internet. Let me know if you still don't understand.

I'll finish up the northern states this evening, though I seriously doubt it would make much business sense to operate a concrete crushing company up North for purposes of providing those services in the South . . . unless of course, the entity is incporporated up north and has not filed to do business in any southern states yet. Hmmmmm, I'll check.
