Gregory, I didn't mean that the mercury wouldn't be a good Idea to salvage. With your knowledge of digging up facts, I was just curious of the cost.

Actually, I think salvaging the mercury is a great idea. DPBM should do the salvage and then sue Spain for the cost of the clean up.

Spain claims every Spanish Wreck around the world. Therefore they should reap the rewards of their sunken ships. Why should Spain be allowed to just profit from the recovery of gold and silver ??
Spain should also pay to clean up the environment. With an approach like that, Spain may give up the rights to their ships around the world and then it would be as it should be, finders keepers.
