#1727 RE: Gregory_ #1726

Thanks for the information you dredged up in your previous post. Just because I asked Ed to ease up doesn't mean I'm joining the Wilf Blum Fan Club. One reason I left the old blog was the blind faith in him that was endlessly raved about.
I give him credit for starting the company and assembling what Ed called the Dream Team. I fault him for a terrible management "style" that drove most of that team away. If the company ultimately succeeds, it will have stemmed from his original assembly of it--but in a weird and circuitous way. Ed's expertise and knowledge, augmented by the experience and knowledge of his partners Messrs. Webber and Haskins, played a tremendous role in getting us to this point--long after all three men had left the company. Ed has "kept Wilf honest", and I use the adjective loosely. Wilf is a Promoter, and they typically tell people a lot of Stuff. It's a reflexive thing. It's a better simile to view Ed as the Investigative Reporter who shines a light on gov't boondoggles, junkets, etc. to galvanize the public (and the "gov't", when it knows it's suddenly on-camera) to action. Before Ed got into that role, it's my belief that Wilf was running the company (and spending our money) in as cavalier and ineffective a fashion as he is reputed to have done with past companies. I didn't use the words boondoggle and junket by accident. I will not assume a sudden gift for inspired and ass-kicking decisions from him, but I'll hope for an evolution toward them.
So I'm not going to believe much of what I hear from Deep Blue. Public statements are a buck & wing dance. They distract us very effectively from the key issues: Are we on top of treasure? and Is it going to be brought up with despatch and made to work for us?
Wilf's current company appears to have been put in a pretty good position despite his past performance. Forget all the shuck & jive. It's time to "Let the Music Do the Talkin' ".
