austonia..unless edig has some super secret deal going on with Sony..(which is highly unlikely)..The only reason that Sony is on the edig partners list is because of ATRAC..NOT much use for it..

It's a closed, proprietary system, austonia.
If all of the various services are offering the same 500,000 songs at the same price, it really doesn't matter that the codecs and DRM schemes are incompatible with other DAP players.

Sony is a very important brand in the audio world, and they will have no trouble selling their players, IMO.

austonia-Sony has tried the proprietary avenue before, and has had their collective rears handed to them. It's a good thing Sony signed a licensing agreement with e.Digital back in 2000, huh?
