Believe what you want to believe. But have a look at an
architectural study of P4 performance characteristics
across SPEC CPU and various classes of PC software. Then
use first order principles for the announced changes in
Prescott and educated assumptions for the announced but
unquantified changes and you easily come out ahead of
Northwood over a huge range of reasonable assumptions
and even those intruding well into the absurd.
