Making that assumption with AMD would be a mistake.
Duke, totally agree. This new analyst Stifel Nicolaus seems to have come out of the woodwork with a prediction totally disconnected from reality. Who knows... maybe AMD made a presentation to him and convinced him not to worry. Or maybe is really is just naive. Either way, I think AG Edwards has the right idea when they say:
The bank said that Intel's new architecture made its chips inherently faster than AMD's. The new AMD chip called "Barcelona" will be "brushed aside by manufacturing improvements by Intel."
