Phil, that was the first "Live" race.

They showed taped races for years as I recall, usually 2-4 weeks after the fact.

like the time Linda Petty crowned Tiny Lund with her purse - knocked him out - turned out she had a 38 in the purse - lol

I have always feared NASCAR was trying to replace indycar type racing - it appears they have.

I say: take the damn rev limiters off the cars, do away with all the "downforce crap" and make 'em race STOCK cars. Or take the S out of NASCAR.

Used to be a rule that a car had to fit the template of the manufactured version, and had to sell 5000 units before NASCAR would approve it for competition.

Oh well - guess time passes bye -lol
