I wouldn't say mining gold is nothing. Gold is as good as gold.
Paper money is no longer as good as gold..LOL go figure

Take a 100 dollar bill, place it in a box.
Buy 100 dollars worth of gold and place it in the same box.

Open the box January first 2008.
The 100 dollar bill will still be worth 100 dollars.
Chances are, and predicated the 100 dollars worth of gold will be worth more
