Intel CEO compares AMD’s success to a “comet passing in the night”
I hate to see this kind of comment from Intel management. I agree with him far more than I disagree, but it's arrogant, and shows a level of pettiness unbecoming of a CEO, IMO. Talk up the competitive advantage, brag about the performance crown, even take jabs your competition's product. But don't be outright dismissive of the competition, even if you say you aren't with the very next breath. AMD did severe damage to Intel with Opteron and everyone knows that. It's a lot more analogous to a comet impact than a fly-by. Far better to let Intel's superior performance as an MPU manufacturer speak for itself.
