oops... I used the wrong bracket.. due to my HTML writting habbit... I can see that by using [] instead of <> would be a better choice because user doesn't have to press the damn shift key... however, you might want to support <> as well, since it's a convention... just need to support it invisibily... damn I made mistake again coz' I didn't read the damn instruction ;-)
By the way, there is a "space" behind your underline function example... you might want to get rid of it.
