Thanks, interesting stuff. Leaving aside segals & parkins fraudulent tendencies… There is nothing wrong with business model itself:
1. Western entrepreneur registers shell company in US and Europe.
2. The shell buys Russian assets.
3. The company is transferred to Russian owners.

Of course, shell owners make money in a process. This is what called “blank check company”. There are dozens of them in US. They collect cash with the purpose to “buy something”. Then start looking for a target that needs money and agrees to be bought out. Usually 18 months is a time frame when such a “business combination” should be completed. These shells could be listed on big exchanges (usually NASDAQ), often issue warrants, and could be very profitable investments. I used to own shells, targets, and warrants… The last example - TDYH, which is getting bought out by PGRI.

So, the problem is not in “shell” which is currently used as a bad word in Germany. The problem is in execution. Some people are able to design “scam” and “fraud” from everything they touch.

With NWOG we have seen the phase 3 of the combination. I believe the problems are in the past, “parkins” were kicked out, everybody else (investors and Russian management) are punished already. I think the purpose of holding old NDOL members in BOD is to help NWOG to sell whatever left from NOL assets (Malyshev wants $10 mln for them). We will see… From all companies that you mentioned NWOG is the only one that should be excluded from this list already (IMO). Even AURC, which is close to the step 3, is a question for now because of the strange role of Mr. Grancharoff. It’s quite possible that he is just a reincarnation of Parkin. BTW, SERG is also the company that worth something. Their Russian assets were likely overvalued, but they exist, and at some point this stock will be a buy. I used to own it in the past, may buy again… just don’t have time now to look what they actually own in Russia.

All IMO.
