I think the cameras, in addition to being fascinating, are good marketing.

All this subsea work isn't done blind--a good bit all of it relies on a...remote control camera feeding an image to an operator looking at a monitor topside.

Being able to offer web-based camera control and feedback systems is part of the core competencies expected of a major player in this line of work. While that kind of multiple live live web cam feeds is pretty cool to those of us not relying on them every day, DPDW can probably do this with spare parts and throw-away programming cycles.

It IS cool, but it is also something of a show and tell of what they do.

camera 1 is not the only camera that can be controlled. most of the camersas are 100% controllable and only a few, such as 5,6 and 7 are locked down. looking at the birds eye view of the facility we are unable to see the majority of the warehouse interior and i have a feeling that is where much of the inventory is. there are also a lot of vehicles there during the day but few of those people work in an area visible by security cam. imo there is a lot of DPDW 'action' that we are unable to see with these cams.
