Altus... cont'd:

Regarding their technology platform, I have a background in protein crystallization and spent some time in graduate school crosslinking protein crystals with agents such as glutaraldehyde, etc, to improve their stability (in my case I was trying to improve their x-ray diffraction pattern). I have no idea what the ALTUS platform is all about (beyond protein crystallization), but in my own hands Ive observed that crosslinked protein crystals can be remarkably stable, and extremely difficult to destroy.

Regarding pancreatic insufficiency, I believe the real problem is the obscene number of pills that patients have to take with each meal. If ALTUS's crystallized cocktail of enzyme is much more stable (and slow releasing) and subsequently gets patients down to 1 or 2 pills per meal, they will have the market cornered.

As for the DNA deal, I'm not as high on crystallized growth hormone working as Im on the pancreatic insufficiency indication.

Im still doing my DD, and will post anything I learn along the way on the board.

Cheers,

PC
