That automotive industry player was Cerberus, who...
Just started to build a new Transmission plant, and...
Just started to build a new Axle plant, and...
Just started to build a new Engine plant…

Could it be that an automotive manufacturer that was 80.1% owned by a venture capitalist firm would step outside of the old method and be pro-active about MPG betterments?

I may be an outsider in this line of thinking, but I think that it is possible that Torvec's tech may be involved with two of those new plants.

with regard to people paying for better fuel economy the points you bring up don't really hold true for the IVT which is lighter and has 75% less parts than the allison 6 speed. The cost will be fairly well in line but I am sure that even if the IVT is cheaper to produce the car companies will still charg a premium for it. They will not have to worry about batteries dying out or any such other thing
