HailMary -

While I agree with you on waiting for real facts, rumors can be good for alerting us to potential pitfalls and opportunities for investments.

Them people should simply say they are rumors. When rumors and facts are presented in the same way the posters credibility suffers.

HailMary, I'm not sure exactly what ignored Elmer is going on about, but based on your reply, I think it's worth pointing out that Elmer believes we should all place great trust in his personal "lunchroom banner" sightings and supposed "internal memos" from Intel (not that he actually works there as an employee or a contractor! oh no! He's never signed an affidavit to that effect and posted it on iHub!)

That he has completely different standards for himself and his fellow Intel employee-posters than he has for the rest of the board should come as no surprise.

more like rear view mirror...
Hailmary, I really appreciate your opinions, but I think these rumors speak more to what has happened rather than what WILL happen. As such, using it as investing advise is more like looking in the rear view mirror than forecasting what will happen... The current stock price should reflect more of what is happening in Q2 and beyond. If prescott completely misses Q1 at this point, I don't think it is really relevant. What is important is how well it performs, how fast the clock will ramp in 2004, and how quickly Intel ramps the new LGA socket and BTX... Of course performance of the server version is critical as this is where AMD is starting to get some traction.
JMHO,
Alan
