Renavatio, "...waited more than 18 months..."

I understand completely where you're coming from. Been there-done that.

About two years ago I did some serious introspection work on my own trading habits and technique. I wanted to figure out why I wasn't happy and why I was losing so often. I was desperate for an improvement.

I came to the conclusion that I was operating on a basic false premise, being MOSTLY INVESTED most of the time. I set myself up for being in those protracted down trends, like you have experienced here. In so doing I missed out on many gigantic opportunities because I had no cash.

I had to teach myself how to be more patient and more deliberate in how I chose my stocks. It was very difficult to reign in my personal greed that was causing me to want to put ALL of my money to work too quickly.

I would recommend the self-analysis approach as a way of improving one's performance.

And by the way, I wasn't "...calling someone a whiner..." as you suggest. That is your spin on my post. I was merely commenting on a very common human character flaw that should be addressed when discovered. On the other hand, some people actually think they are already perfect and cannot improve. More power to them. For myself, I am willing to make any adjustment to get an improvment in my ROI. I am a very serious investor and I don't like to lose, so I don't.

Good Luck.
