Speaking of singing... Verizon's new 'Song ID' service is rather fascinating and quite a jump for the acknowledgement of the similar technologies in the mobile space.
I still wonder why the major operators haven't forged ahead and offered their own 2d barcode services. Surely if there weren't patent issues it would have done by now.
