I'm sorry, but to infer something is a scam as strongly as you have is just as wrong and detrimental to a newbie as saying nothing. What should be said is do your own DD and that you either have or don't have reservations and why. You gave the why, but called them scammers while there's still too much info to say otherwise as both itlogic and I have said about the companies tactics so far.
