Yes their is a bit of a learning curve to using the scan engine, basic and advanced. I like the advanced engine because it has a few more features. I also compose most of my scans in notepad and then just paste them into the advanced scan engine, check the syntax code and then run. This also allows me to use the building block approach, ie I have sections of code stored in a notepad file which do different things with comment and notes. I then just copy and paste the sections together for what I'm trying to do and I know all the individual sections have already been proven to work.

With respect to Real time charting on Stockcharts, I don't daytrade so never really had enough interest, but I thought they did make it clear that it was not streaming charts. However I still think for the $10 per month it is quite a good deal for what you get. Streaming charts for all exchanges can easily run you up close to $100 per month with the service and the exchange fees.
