I wonder if anyone has coined the phrase "Codus Interruptus" yet. If not, I dibs it.

Whenever my wife calls me, she can tell just in the way I say "InvestorsHub.Com, this is Bob" whether or not I'm neck deep in programming. She can tell (and Laurin and Della are learning) when I'm there and knows that interrupting/distracting me simply isn't wise.

I liken it to deep-sea diving. If you're doing work about a thousand feet below the surface, and you have to come to the surface to take a phone call, it takes a while to get back to where you were.

My wife just now called to ask something and said I sound like I'm pretty deep into banging out code and can't pull myself free from it at the moment. I told her I was at a good "pulling out" point, she made a predictable comment, and I offered up "Codus Interruptus".

Anyway, I'd better get back at it. I think I've caught the bug-du-jour and feel like crap, and had planned to take the rest of the week off, but came to the office to check on something and ended up doing some programming and I'm having so much fun, it's hard to quit. iHub programming, for a change.

Don't read anything into the fact that I'm talking about programming in a reply to a message talking about a filing system. Well, then again.......

Several people have asked about that before (me included). If you search this board and the Wish List board you will find Bob's detailed explanations. Basically, as I understand it, the routine(s) running the edit window are fragile creature(s) that if tinkered with might wreak havoc on lots of other things. Also as I understand it, this project has gone on the "one of these days" list since it would be a large expenditure of time.
