No, STM sells its NOR assets, as well as much smaller NAND assets into this new venture. The new venture is mainly a NOR company.

Re: Intel sells it's NOR assets and STM it's NAND assets. Doesn't that mean that Intel's NAND division competes with the new company of which Intel owns 45%?

Perhaps ST's NAND memory shares patents with its NOR memory, which made it necessary to sell both. So Intel-Micron JV will be competition, but the real goal is taking down Samsung, and I'm sure the two companies will collaborate and try not to stomp on one another's design wins.
