I did not know that and neither did you...how could we have known that? it's not published anywhere. The lock is to be rolled out in Home Depot Stores next month but the Bio Lock purchases on the web aren’t 't selling with this newer revision. Personally I would have rather waited and got one with the upgrade. It is a feature worthwhile in having which would be a plus for the lock differentiating itself from the competition.
Seeing this feature is not available on the web today would lend one to believe there could be problems that could lead to the delay in future with roll out of the product. If this happens expect the PPS to drop even more.
The Smartscan Lock Manufactured After April 2007 comes in a RED kwikset box..(which is probably what you will find on the shelves of home depot soon}........that is the bump proof lock.......any locks prior are the TYPE 2 Lock and can be bumped........just like many other locks on the market........
