I never sid chemo is awful those are your words. Its worth the side effects if one achieves a significant benefit as in first line treatment but the slight pfs benefit for gemzar does not. gemzar is chemotherapy so what do you mean by there is a benefit to gemzar because it delays chemo. Do you mean that the delay in pfs obviated the need for worse chemo.thats ridiculous. Your argument is sort of like lets take a lethal injection because the quality of life is better than the elctric chair. For most patients(i dont want to get into great detail about who might benefit) when first line chemo fails everything else is a crapshoot. These patients live a miserable life.

We give chemo to extend life in ovarian ca patients. Although cures are rare the months to years of first line chemo do extend life. However once a patient fails their life is miserable.
