seems that the professor is giving a broad brush to the topic
not at all unusual for academic types
lots of areas were considered to be science fiction when they first came on the scene and now they are commonplace--being able to fly using an aircraft is one that comes to mind.
take that articles reference to the assocaiated work that dnap is involved with with a grain of salt
