Apparently, there is a huge portion of new business that TT has to turn away that is related to 'spread-sheet' trading. This is a portion of the market that TT would like to get a piece of, but currently can not.
(that's what the way I understood the conversation... could be wrong).
BTW: I'm not a trading/markets guru. My background in software archtecture/engineering and none of it directly related to financial markets. FWIW.
From the discussion I had with their VP of Engineering, I feel very comfortable with their technical abilities (that's an understatement). This is not a simple piece of software build around MS Excel (or any other msft technology). This is a serious system built from the ground up for high performance trading applications. The layer that connects with msft junk is very thin thus isolating the core system from msft OS debacles (vista, et. al.)
