PappaJohn. That must be frustrating for him.
Yet, I think he needs to remember sermons are like teaching kids.
Sometimes as a parent I get so frustrated.
Yet, down the road my child demostrates he was listening that day to the part that mattered.
All this time I had thought nothing had sunk in.
My wife and I discussing church before she said did you get anything out of that sermon?
I said no.
She said she didn't either as she had heard it all before.
I said but you need to realize certain people were there today who haven't heard that message. It was for them. Just like when we connect to a sermon there are others who already ounderstand the message being presented that day.
In conclusion I guess I'd say it's a matter of experiences we all have in life.
I'd encourage your pastor friend that many times we have affected people yet we will never hear about it.
Doesn't mean the plant wasn't taking in the water for future growth.
Just means we weren't around to see the new set of branches to sprout.
Discouragement is the devils favorite tool.
You are in a GREAT position to counter that!
