This is the EXACT reason why the restrictions hurt stocks. I was told a week ago its not a big deal you just need to call your trades in. The problem with this is that most dont want to take the time to do it so it kills the trading in our stock and others.
Tell Scottrade that you're switching brokers over this issue. Turn your account over to optionsXpress.com I've not experienced any restrictions on optionsXpress when others on the boards claim that there are "restrictions" on another board. If people move their account over this issue and make it clear this is why they're leaving to a broker who does NOT play these games, ...maybe they will quit. At least you will not have to suffer anymore after the switch.
And if you write a complaint to the SEC with the details of the bogus restrictions and tell them that you are sending a copy to your Congressman, that will help (if others complain too). A Congressman is a powerful influence if they do become interested in a genuine problem within our nation.
