echarter; The numbers are correct for that year, 1999 in the Premier, the coma is a typo, is 63cpht, 157/249 = 63cpht. But, they are saying that there total remaining reserves are 39cpht.

Production during 1999

Tons created 2,49 million
Carats recovered 1,57 million
Recovered grade 63,2 cpht

If I take out the Argyle, which is the only lamporite operating mine in world, it comes to 61,556,000 total carats and 77,031,520 tons of kimberlite, which equals 80cpht!

If I take out all of the alluvial and marine diamond mines the number would be higher yet though! Just look a Namibia, all alluvial and marine diamond mines and 1,520,000 carats and 28,007,000 tons of dirt which equals, 5.4cpht. Just taking Namibia out of the total count we get 60,036,000 total carats and 49,024,520 tons of kimberlite, which equals 122cpht!
