Itsonly:
Howdy. First of all, if I may, we all have no idea what Gabriel (and who says she is his girlfriend?) has done for the company. Could be he has already accomplished something you won't appreciate for another six months. And where did that 8 million in financing come from? Was that Tony's work?

If Tony Frudakis wants DNAP to be a leader in the field, he must act the part. He must be at the right locations answering questions that Gabriel could not answer.
Also, how can Frudakis' staying at home help the patents get issued, the laboratory get accredited, the partnerships and alliances get established. Those are for Gomez et.al.
As a matter of fact, if Tony were not to attend these events, getting noteriety and contacts, the chances of DNAP staying in the mainstream would dwindle.
When Tony is asked to these conferences, it also tells us that he is held in certain esteem by his peers. How would it look if he turned them down? This is actually a guage for shareholders.
Worktoplay could have only said it more strongly-these events are some of the most necessary elements in establishing DNAP in a viable position with it's peers, and to establish invaluable contacts.
The science will get done, but as you climb a rock you must set your pitons and cover all moves before you reach the top.JMHO

Itsonly: How and why did you write this? "Doesn't anyone else find it just a little irritating that Gabriel and his girlfriend have done nothing as yet with regards to running the company".

There is nobody who knows what these people are doing to run the company. None of us can speak about deals, associations, contacts, point people...none of it.

Also, respectfully, I disagree. Tony IS a business man. The degree of his success as that will be determined later. At face value, under your hypothesis, we have a guy who goes out and get's million's of dollars for financing ( both TBF's, and now La Jolla's..in conjuction with other deals ) and you're saying he is NOT a business man?

The associations that this man brings to the company are important in my opinion. Hey, as far as that goes, they must be to Frudakis too, he hired him and his little start up company, albeit on the backs of the shareholders ( who go in Eyes Wide Open ), is still here in perhaps the most difficult economic down turn since the 70's, and perhaps even the 30's.

itsonly---I know I am to be nice but I am not going to be.
YOU DONT HAVE A CLUE! You cant send some CEO to a science
conference. The folks there want to talk science not business.
A science conference is not about business its about science.
Can you not see the difference?
