#4212 RE: Lakers_w #4203

THAT is interesting Laker. I just realized something. Because MRVL hasn't been able to talk freely in their CCs, they've all but been telegraphing this stuff.

Sehat in his last CC was talking very highly about the HD technology they've been working on whereby they supposedly make the quality better coming out at the end than is produced now.

I remember specifically (and you can read the transcript on SeekingAlpha) the analysts asking him about how that would compete with BRCM's product line in that segment and he said it wouldn't because it's a thing that comes after BRCM's thing (I'm using 'thing' because I don't remember exactly what the terms were).

Now that you posted that first article, it reminds me of when Sehat was talking about why they purchased the xScale biz from INTC back in Aug's CC. That analysts you could tell not only didn't understand what he was saying about it, but also had no interest in it because all they care about is immediate cash flow.

Now, in hindsight, this xScale buy very well could be the biggest thing that happens to MRVL in the med to long term as we're starting to see the company morph into something else.

But that article mentioned that that video processor that they are making "processed the video output of an iPod for display on a large-screen LCD".

How much you wanna bet that this has more to do with AAPL's future iTV changes and adaptations for larger TVs resolution than anything else? I saw last night the iTV in action at the Irvine Spectrum AAPL store and you could totally tell that the picture is blown up and therefore somewhat pixelated if you look closely at it. They were playing Pirates of the Carribean.

The analysts always seem to blow off what MRVL talks about in terms of their other products because unless they are selling them in mass, the analysts don't care.

But the pieces of the puzzle start to come together once you think it through.

Let's face it, MRVL doesn't spend countless hours designing things unless they see a market or need --- or are asked to design something by their customers - names AAPL?

And this also lends credibility to the iPhone connection.
