MMAYR...

"You have absolutely no evidence to verify your documentation on Muslims"

Well let’s see. My parents met in India while serving in the Peace Corps. They have shaken Mother Theresa’s hands while feeding the starving. Then they decided to go to Egypt for a while. After my parents came home from their five-year long stay in Saudi Arabia they decided that the rest of the Middle East was too dangerous for any more travel. I have spent days and days talking to them about the land region and peoples as well as how things really work. You might say I have gained a little hands-on perspective. Add in the thousands of dollars donated to the Afghan freedom fighters as well as the two Afghans that came to stay with us during the 80's. And I would say I have actually had more experience and insight than most Americans in regards to the middle east and its people.. My parents still have a picture of an Afghan holding his AK-47 high against the Russian bear sitting on top the mantle in the living room. It was a gift from those Afghans. Muslims I might add.

My documentation not only comes from direct communication with Middle Eastern Muslims but plenty of reading and studying the worlds religion(s) during the last four years at 6-8 hours a day!

"If you wish to debate the issue of religious belief. . .go read Karen Armstrong's book, "The History of God." Man created religion, not a God."

Ah yes you read one book and now are an expert. Are we going to debate the Zoroastrian birth now? Ok I'll just leave you at this. I've read that book. Found it topical, one-dimensional and monotonous. Poke your head into some serious reading and then tell me about my closed mind and soapbox. I think you should start with the dark ages and how European society intertwined with the Middle East. I have several good titles if you’re interested. Let me go to my parent’s house and I could give you at least five years of hard studying on the Middle East. I know don’t waste my time as my mind is so closed you wont even listen to what I have to say.

Sarals had a good point when she stated,…”That the Muslim faith is growing in America is not horrifying if you understand their faith.... IMO. Sara”

Good point. It would just be nice if these millions of Muslims that admittedly compose only a small percentage of the overall population of that faith believed in the same message as the Dalai Lama, Malcolm X or Muhammad Ali. We wouldn’t be having this issue.
