They do those bumps (high or low) to trip off triggers to sell or buy. Its an old trick mostly used on the big boards to trigger stop loss trades people have setup to automatically fill.
The dip would cause a sell off which lets the others buy the cheap shares being dumped by the panic. I doubt it works well on the pinks, since triggers can be set but not stop orders.
