In terms of cost, the costs will reduce to affordable levels very rapidly with volume. With ubiquity comes volume comes cheaper pricing structures.
Accpetance: Baby Boomers drive consumption you say?? For home loans, BMWs, Home theatre packages, Botox treatment....etc.....SURE! I agree. But for technology??? Incorrect.
Generation Y leads tech consumption. Remember when cell phones were only for yuppies and executives?? Now my 11 year old nephew has one....almost every 18-24 year old has one ... certainly 25-35 yr old. Look at iPods, CD players, it goes on.
Acceptance and costs, your two big hurdles, are no hurdles at all. The only hurdle IMO is time.
