It's not even borrowing in my mind if the person the property is being "borrowed" from hasn't been asked... that's more like stealing. Hey, I don't want anyone to borrow my shares... do I have a choice? Which brings up another issue... if you put a GTC sell order on your shares you are long, can they still be used for shorting?
