In the meantime, they do what they can to stir the oil barrel and keep prices above sixty bucks, as they just did with the disputed territorial waters fiasco, whereby they 'captured' 15 Brits to 'put on a show' and keep tensions and oil prices as high as possible.

The Middle East is 'all about the oil', make no mistake. The industrialized countries simply cannot maintain their economies without a steady affordable flow of the 'black gold'.
That is precisely why domestic oil and gas will become increasingly important to the USA.
