PLANO, Texas - April 12, 2007 - ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB: VCST - News), a leading global provider of high-quality audio and video communication products, today announced the release of a new addition to the GoStream™ family, the new Niagara® GoStream Plus portable streaming media encoder. The power of the GoStream Plus platform allows users to encode multiple formats and resolutions simultaneously. It also provides advanced D1-resolution encoding increasingly favored by all-digital facilities. The easy-to-use device offers pre-defined encoding profiles and an interface of complete controls on the front panel simplifying applications for both novice and professional users.

The GoStream Plus is designed for video content providers who want to reach ever broader audiences via a variety of computers, set-top boxes and mobile devices, each of which requires different formats and resolutions, so that each viewer has an optimal viewing experience. The Niagara GoStream Plus is a more powerful, portable streaming media encoder designed to make capturing and streaming video a simple, easy-to-use process. The GoStream Plus features three EZStream® buttons on the front panel that allow users to select from pre-defined encoding profiles. From a front panel interface, the EASE menu system provides a complete set of controls for local, basic encode/setup, including real-time control of multiple encoder sessions and feedback on system performance, and direct-access for system configuration.
For additional simplicity, the GoStream Plus features Niagara SCX remote encoder management software, which utilizes a Web-based user interface for the creation and editing of custom encoding profiles, GoStream configuration, and checking activity and alert logs. The software also allows users to remotely start and stop encoding sessions via IP network connectivity. Osprey SimulStream delivers multiple streams of encoding of up to two digital or analog video signals in multiple formats, resolutions, and bitrates.
The GoStream Plus features full D1 compression, and allows users to export files to storage devices and view video on a handheld device such as an Apple iPod® or Creative's Zen™ video players via a device dock on the front panel. USB ports allow easy installation of software upgrades, encoding profiles and for transferring archive files.
Full portability and mobility can be achieved with wireless and battery options that create a system that can be used anywhere there is a wireless network. This portable unit gives the user the flexibility to be mobile, but with the optional Dual Dock it has the power of a rack-mount unit.
