(edit)i said i may have been joking..lol...there are many ways...but what is going on out there is amazing...start here..and see what the major companies...and individuals are doing...in the open source world:

http://sourceforge.net/

..after you have learned a bit....go here and check out an up and coming star..it is a bittorrent client...

http://sourceforge.net/projects/azureus/

then you need a search engine...this is where you dabble...and tread the water per se...it offers a disclaimer...here is one example:

http://isohunt.com/

..now...start your search:

http://isohunt.com/torrents/?ihq=300

..not all file players are the same:

http://www.divx.com/

i would highly reccommend browsing through sourceforge...you will see many projects sponsored by companies like internap(remember them?..lol)...etc..etc..all projects on that site are working projects...and represent a major push into the future...all is free there...and clean...no worries...it is "open source"--the problem with the bittorrent..is that it is not as clean...and many things are illegal...but it is not consumer friendly...and takes effort---refer to sites like "you tube.../ google(lawsuit).veoh..etc..and similar..that provide a "consumer friendly" download by means of an individual that uploads content through that site...and an internet surfer only needs to hit one button..."play..and or..download"...to view..and or save content...that is bad...making content readily available to average joe consumer that is protected content..is a big no..no.....and it is all over the place..here's an example of what i refer to as a "google video filter"..:

http://www.jonhs.net/freemovies/

....i actually watched "borat" provided by this sight...that linked to google video...downloaded it...it was up there for about a day....not cool...too easy--point is...it is happening very fast....and the "all digital"(fcc) thing coming 2009 is much larger than anyone understands...but that is another "related" story---have fun learning...but play nice!--best of luck!

sinc,

bill

ps... google deserves everything that is coming to them...and all other "user friendly" sites as well..you don't give children ciggarettes..!!
