Davidam, we all know diamonds and precious metals WILL go down in value when, there are not threats to oil flow worldwide, the value of the dollar only rises, no country threatens US interests anywhere, worldwide population growth goes negative, there's and end to war and all leaders join in the chorus 'Kumbaya my lord....' but until that day comes some will believe in their dementia. Go GBDX......RTB

Davidam, I am not saying diamonds depreciate, just the the wholesale end is very diferent from the retail. There is also huge differences in the Jewely stores. Tiffanys for example will always give you 100% on a trade - in for a more expensive stone. But try to sell that same stone and you will see what your offers are. I don't mean a diamond you bought 20 years ago either. Actually, last month my AStepson was looking at a loose stone for his girlfriend because they want to get engaged. The jeweler wanted $7000 for a decent 2 carat stone. I went back with my Stepson and got the same stone for $5600.
