If Intel had simply stopped all R&D as well as new construction then this would have had a very positive effect on margins, for a while... As you seem to argue that Intel should have pursued the maximum margin strategy, why haven't you advocated this approach?

I do agree with your thesis as long as Barcelona turns out to be about equal to a 2.8 to 3GHz C2D, which I think it will.

What are your expectations of Intel's earnings as this strategy plays out through Nehelem and then Gesher?
