Allman, capped at $6 here, but this is different. It's a re-finance mortgage closing, so you also get to charge for your time, mileage, and printing. I did one signing that only had 3 signatures one time for $50. Took me all of 5 minutes. Most of these require about 30-40 signatures, of which 3-5 are notarized. You CAN NOT charge more than your state's rate to notarize a document, but you CAN charge a fee for your time in addition to that to do a closing.

You are lucky. I'm a Notary in a state that caps your fee at $2 per document. I do most for Starbucks and stock tips:-)
