You have to remember that most of what you see is retail. Thats you and me and everyone else. The MMs handle our trades and that is what we see on the bid and ask most of the time. I suspect that you wont even see a bid or ask when the MMs want to buy or sell, UNLESS THEY ARE IN MANIPULATION MODE. Another thing to remember is that MMs dont have to do all that much manipulation. Kill a rally and a lot of money runs away. They know that. They also know that the lower their profile the better so they will try to keep it simple and manipulate only when forced to.
