The guy is completely out to lunch - his basic premise that DVD hardware acceleration isn't widespread is wrong right out the gate. Regarding H.264, anyone with a MBP or MacPro already has H.264 hardware acceleration. Will have to double-check on MacBook and Mini but strongly suspect GMA950 is providing hardware acceleration as well.

The guy is a clueless idiot, plain and simple.
