It was the only time I handled a unit; maybe I was just especially inept. The browser seemed somehow crippled, and I had a rough time getting map directions off the internet. Maybe your friend's system has an integrated GPS and map program and is using that instead of a web interface?
At any rate, it was handed to me with instructions to use the web to solve a problem, and it went poorly. I can't say anything about regular blackberry users, but my impression is that I'll like the Apple UI.
