yeah never know...sometimes until after the fact. Microsoft has wanted (wants) to create it's own banking system/bank for a while like GE and Wal*Mart have going. it saves co.'s that do this lots of time and money in all the servicing and "middleman" things that occur when one outsources and/or must go outside the co. for financial services...whereas MSFT is certainly big enough and has enough cash to be it's own bank. i think MSFT got resistance from the banking establishment over this. i'm not sure about it's current status as an idea and/or a developing reality. seems sensible to me though. so, your thought/voice/vision does not seem so strange to me.
