Evening Justin...

Checking in before I hit the hay... The weekend went all too fast. Got a lot done but I'm not having fun anymore... so it goes.

Thanks for the follow up to Phil's post. Will definitely do the 8 miles to 80 in silence from now on so I can listen carefully to what is going on. An ounce of prevention and all that jazz. <g>

Take care of your health. Best of luck with the kidney stone ordeal. My sister did quite well once they were broken up with the sound bath treatment. I hope you go through this with ease.

Justin....Rarely get around to my favorites here anymore, but just happened to see your post about kidney stones.

Let me first offer my sympathies to you. I know how bad the pain can get.

If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me at any time.....not much I can really do other than relate my experience with it. My daughter's boyfriend had one about a month before me, and I constantly was asking him if he had experienced this or that, and what he did about it. Helped me a lot, physically and mentally.

But, believe it or not, I am not done yet! Mine started around the first or second week of Sept, and after the 3rd day of the most excruciating pain I've ever known, I opted for surgery to remove it right there at the urology center.

However, this was on a late Friday afternoon, and after calling in the anesthesiologist, he decided he would rather do it at a hospital due to my asthma and severe emphysema. So, too late to sched. hospital, my Doc leaving for 2 week vacation, Monday a Holiday, etc. it was not done.

Then Dr's covering Dr said at my next appt. that xrays showed significant progress, if I could hold out several more days, all should work out. Well, to shorten the story, for one reason or another, it lasted about 4 weeks with the pain gradually subsiding. ( At first, 8 iboprofens and 6 vicodins in one day hardly made a dent in the pain.)

So, it finally went off the xrays alltogether, no pain, etc, and Dr. thought it had passed, even though I had been straining urine since before it supposedly got into bladder.

About a week and a half ago, pain started again. Not as bad as before, 2 ibu's and a vicodin took care of it.

More xrays, nothing showing. Just finished a dye xray series Thursday that shows the left side (where all the pain was/is) is blocked from the kidney.

Tomorrow I go to pre-op visit, and surgery (the same they couldn't do before) is scheduled for Thursday morn.
Dr. is going to do a roto rooter (my terminology, lol) job all the way to the kidney.

Ya know I'm praying this is finally the end of it!

Again, PM me if you have any questions.

OD

PS: Hi Ksquared and all!
