Crow I believe we started with Dallas Childerns Hospital because of Dr Tourville..Valimed went into his hospital for Drug Diversion..(drug addicts like childrens hospitals)

He had a few things going for him... besides the fact he is working for a Childerns hospital..

John Tourville, Children's Medical Center of Dallas John Tourville, Pharm.D., is the departmental director of pharmacy services at Children's, a position he has held since 1996. Before coming to Children's, he spent two years at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas as a clinical specialist in the Investigational Drug Service.

During his career, Tourville has served as an assistant professor of pharmacy at the State University of New York, associate professor of pharmacy at West Virginia University and clinical coordinator at the Clinical Center of the National Institutes of Health.

After leaving NIH, he served in the Navy, leading the pharmacy department at the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune, N.C. He also was associate head and critical care specialist at the Naval Hospital in San Diego.

In addition to his responsibilities at Children's, John presents continuing education programs across the country on improving efficiency of pharmacy operations and reducing medication errors through the use of automated technologies.

He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut in 1973 and his doctor of pharmacy from the State University of New York in 1975.

CDEX partnered with Children's Medical Center Dallas to perform an alpha test of its proprietary ValiMed solution for controlled substance diversion, focusing on the validation of five controlled substances, Fentanyl, Morphine, Meperidine, hydromorphone and midazolam in various concentrations that were unused in surgical suites and returned to the pharmacy as waste. The results of this testing were very positive.
