Technical analysis is a means to an end.

Simply, TA is the science of using historical information to assess the probability of an array of possible outcomes.

"TA", in one form or another, is used by everyone in nearly all aspects of life.

The validity of Technical Analysis as a good investment tool is highly suspect, based on current theory and research in Finance.

You may be right but if you are driving down the road and with your gas tank leaking onto the roadway and someone in the opposing lane flicks a butt and lights the trail of leaking gas, TA is a good way to determine whether you are going to be consumed by the flames or outrun the trail. Wouldn't you agree?
