I have never said to own gold and silver in a vacume - and certainly not exclusive of other things - weapons and bullets not being the least of them!

Copper and lead are worthless unless you have a functioning weapons factory operating - which, of course, it wouldn't be.

It's all about emotions in situations like that. Gold and Silver have always been bartering currencies and always will be. The US wild west is as close to an example as you can get - and gold/silver were the primary currency - even with guns and bullets on every waist.
